- The cost of a fortification attempt now depends on the item's current level and its rarity, not on the scroll. Higher levels and rarer items (green → blue → orange → yellow → purple → red) cost more. The fortification window shows the real cost.
- Each scroll now covers a level range:
- Grade C: from +0 to +7
- Grade B: from +7 to +11
- Grade A: from +11 to +15
- Grade S: from +15 to +18
- Grade S+: from +18 to +20
- Items can now be fortified all the way to +20.
- Success chance now depends only on the level you are trying to reach — every scroll gives the same chance: up to +5: 100% · +6: 90% · +7: 70% · +8: 60% · +9: 40% · +10: 25% · +11: 15% · +12: 14% · +13: 10% · +14: 9% · +15: 7% · +16: 6% · +17: 4% · +18: 3% · +19: 2% · +20: 1%. Clovers still help as before.
- A failed fortification never destroys the item and no longer drops its durability to 0. Instead the item loses 10% of its maximum durability (repair it with the usual max-durability repair items).
- The Fortify window now shows the Chance of Success for the item you put in it, just like the Alchemy window.
- Armor (not shields) is easier and cheaper to fortify than weapons: +50% success chance (e.g. 60% → 90%) and half the cost.
